An internally consistent hermeneutic requires that Jesus will reign from David's throne in Jerusalem, just as David, Peter, Luke et al. predicted. Supersessionists, amillennialists, and post-millennialists assume that the throne of David has been moved to heaven, and that the ascension of Christ fulfills the Davidic promises.
